T 6

6. Charny asks:  So the judge did not allow this knight to tourney, and this knight did not wish to arm himself, and the judge had “tie it up” cried and had the cords [or stakes] put in the fields, and people went out and the troops were made by the judges and they say “you are released” to them, and they clash. And there many are pulled to the ground and their horses are taken. And when the evening comes, those whose horses are lost ask for them back and say it was not a tourney at all. How will it be judged by the law of arms for tourneys?
