W 21

21.  Charny asks:   A knight or a squire strikes another in anger or by word; and the one who is struck finds himself the stronger and captures the one who struck him and leads him away and puts him in a strong, foul prison.   And he takes as great a ransom as he can from him.   Can he do this without reproach in a country in which he can wage war and one can capture another?
