W 40

40.  Charny asks:   A garrison of men at arms are in a city under one captain.  One part of the men at arms of the garrison leave with permission of the captain and win many prisoners and other goods and come back to their city.  Those in the city who remained on guard in the city claim a share with the others.   Those who were outside refuse.  There are many good reasons given on either side.  What will be judged by the law of arms?
