W 39

39.  Charny asks:   When a man at arms has performed in such a way that he is considered to be good in this profession, if he finds himself armed in a place where men at arms are fighting and leaves, fleeing to his dishonor, what is necessary for him to repair and recover his honor?  Is it necessary for him to do as much as he has done before or more, or what?
